Maria Mayrhofer is the founding executive director of the online-based grassroots organisation #aufstehn in Austria. The organisation’s goal is to enhance civic participation along progressive issues. The political scientist is an expert in digital campaigns and mobilization. She also publishes a podcast. For her work against hate speech and sexual violence on the Internet she was awarded the Vienna Women’s Prize in 2016.
