Senior Lecturer in Corporate Law and Governance, University of Bristol
Dr Eleanore Hickman is a lecturer in corporate law and governance at the University of Bristol, a co-director of the University of Bristol Centre for Private and Commercial Law and a member of the UK Young Academy.
Having returned to academia from legal practice, Eleanore completed her doctoral studies at University College London, with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. From here she went on to carry out post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge.
Eleanore’s research intersects corporate governance, financial regulation and the digital transformation, drawing on management theory, sociology and economics. Her recent monograph, 'Diversity, Merit and Power in the C-Suite' was published with Hart Publishing which examines who holds positions of power in the UKs most powerful corporations and why. She has published research in various leading law journals including the Modern Law Review, the Journal of Corporate Law Studies, and the European Business Organisation Law Review.
