Flo works in the Policy Impact Unit (PIU), a team of professional policy intermediaries based in UCL Engineering. She has several years of experience at the interface of UK research and policy making, built upon the belief that the essential policy decisions, ranging from regulating emerging technologies to tackling climate change, need to be informed by the best possible evidence.

Flo’s role involves working directly with research teams across UCL Engineering on topics including cyber security and the circular economy to provide professional policy engagement expertise and deliver knowledge exchange activities.

Prior to working at UCL, Flo was a Policy Officer at the Institute of Physics. She has also previously worked in public affairs at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Flo holds an MSc in Oceanography from the University of Southampton and a BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia.
