Giorgio’s research interests revolve around international macroeconomics, trade, finance, productivity and growth, regional economics, and the economics of creative industries.

Giorgio has been Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator for large-scale research projects in Italy and the UK. He is currently the Research Director of the Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (Creative PEC), a national centre led by Newcastle University in partnership with the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce (RSA) and funded by the Arts and Humanities Council.
