Jennifer Boon is Deputy Director for Data Policy and Digital Oversight at NHSX. Her team is responsible for the health and social care data strategy, currently published in draft, “Data saves lives: reshaping health and social care with data.” Before NHSX, Jennifer worked at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation, specialising in bias in algorithmic decision making, and at the Office for Life Sciences, leading their work on the data and digital components of the first Life Sciences Sector Deal. Prior to joining the civil service, Jennifer worked on research and public health policy in the third sector, starting her career at Cancer Research UK before moving onto the British Heart Foundation and Understanding Patient Data.
