Director - Defence, Intelligence & Public Safety, IBM Software Group Europe

John Palfreyman joined IBM in 1996, as part of the acquisition of Data Sciences where he was General Manager of the Aerospace Division.

Whilst with IBM John worked at a European and Global level as leader of a number of emerging technology businesses including Pervasive Computing, Wireless e-business, Linux Services, Grid Computing and Open Source Services before joining the Global Business Services team as Global Solutions Leader for Defence, Intelligence and Public Safety.

After four years in this role, John moved his current role in the Software Group Europe CTO Team where he focuses on Cyber Security, Social (Media) Business, Open Architectures and Stream Computing for real time defence and intelligence applications.

He holds an MSc in Applicable Mathematics from Cranfield University.
