Louisa is currently on secondment to Our Future Health as Director of Policy and Public Affairs. Our Future Health is an ambitious collaboration between the public, charity and private sectors and is the UK's largest ever health research programme.

Louisa joined the civil service in 2005 as an information researcher and moved quickly into policy, taking on a wide variety of roles and ultimately developing a focus on supporting highly innovative, cutting-edge industries to grow and flourish in the UK. She is now a Deputy Director at the Office for Life Sciences, a joint unit part of the Department of Health and Social Care and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. She is in charge of the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and Sector Policy team which supported Sir John Bell to write and publish the industry-led Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and take this forward through two sector deals, joint plans with the sector. Her team are responsible for implementing the sector deals and working closely with industry to develop future policy and investment projects in line with the strategy.
