Manar works in the Strategic Partnerships Office, managing the University's institutional industry partnerships relating to energy transition and decarbonising industries. Within this space, her work includes managing strategic partnerships with individual companies, developing strategic internal initiatives to enable industry engagement, and managing the University of Cambridge's Decarbonisation Network.

Manar's metier is Earth Science, and she holds a PhD in geodynamics. She previously worked in the energy industry where her technical career spanned the full science and technology cycle, from applied research to technology development, as well as industrial operations through to developing training.

Manar's current interests focus on developing partnership strategies to accelerate decarbonisation at scale, and multi-lingual communication aiming at raising environmental and sustainability awareness amongst local communities, especially in the Middle East.
