Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Engineering

Dr Monika Kreitmair is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Engineering. Her research explores the impact of underground infrastructure on the thermal climate of the subsurface and further ramifications on the potential of geothermal energy structures for provision of heating and cooling in cities. A second component of her work focusses on how uncertainties affect the optimal design of ground-source heat pumps and she previously explored the impact of uncertainty on tidal stream energy resource assessment. Monika holds a MPhys in Physics from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems and PhD in Engineering from the University of Edinburgh. In 2022, she was also a Darwin College Cambridge Zero David MacKay Research Associate.
