Nick Joicey became Director General for the Economic and Domestic Secretariat in the Cabinet Office in 2022. He had been the Director General, Finance at the Department for Work and Pensions since July 2018. He was previously Director General for Strategy, EU Exit and Finance in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), having taken up the position of DG for Strategy, International, Food and Farming there in 2014. He was also Head of the Policy Profession in Defra, and a member of the Department's Supervisory Board.

Prior to joining Defra he was Director for International Finance at the Treasury. Before that he led the Treasury’s European teams and was seconded to Washington DC at the UK delegation to the IMF.

    What are the big opportunities to deliver on the aims of the agri-tech strategy? This policy workshop seeks to explore this question in the context of the rapidly developing plans for the new Cambridge Centre for Crop Science (3CS), a collaboration between NIAB and the University of Cambridge that will enhance research in crop sciences, promote knowledge exchange and develop resilience in food security.
