As Deputy Head of Home Office Policy Unit, Oliver is responsible for developing and delivering high-impact policy solutions to some of the most pressing challenges across home affairs.

Oliver’s recent roles include: Private Secretary to the Home Secretary for Crime & Justice, and Cabinet Office strategist on the delivery of the vaccination programme and the reopening of the UK economy.

Prior to joining the Civil Service, Oliver advised the Leader and Cabinet of Surrey County Council on economic matters, including capital budgets and Government investment. He started his career in publishing.

Oliver was previously a professional rugby union player, and he now competes in Ironman racing and endurance sport.
