Dr Paul Millard is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. He has been a consultant with the Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) and predecessor organisations since 1996.
Paul was a community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) consultant until 2011 when he took over as the consultant to the Darwin Centre, an adolescent mental health inpatient ward in Cambridge, until 2021. Alongside those roles Dr Millard has been Clinical Director for Childrens Services in CPFT on two occasions, most recently finishing that role in 2022. He currently works at Addenbrookes Hospital as a CAMHS liaison consultant and as Consultant CAMHS psychiatrist at the Clare Lodge Social Care Secure Unit in Peterborough.
Dr Millard has extensive experience of assessment and treatment of serious mental illness, including the use of the Mental Health Act (1983) and extensive experience of independent expert medico-legal work, including family law, medical negligence, coroners’ courts as well as capacity/ Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) legislation. Paul is a member of the accreditation committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Quality Network for Inpatient CAMHS.
