Timothy Less is Director of the political risk consultancy Nova Europa, which provides risk analysis about Eastern Europe to investment groups and businesses. He is also an Associate Researcher with the Centre for Geopolitics, based in the Department of Politics and International Studies, University of Cambridge, where he convenes the study group in geopolitical risk analysis at the Centre for Geopolitics. He is also a senior advisor for geopolitics at the Centre for Risk Studies at the Judge Business School. His research covers Eastern Europe, with a particular interest in the Balkans.

Timothy has previously lectured on East European politics at the University of Kent, and spent ten years in a number of roles at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He holds a PhD and MPhil in International Relations, both from the University of Cambridge, and an MSc in Eastern European Politics from University College London.
