Tom Maitland is Senior Manager for Financial Services Policy at the CBI. He is responsible for the CBI’s work on financial services competitiveness, sustainable finance, and capital markets. He joined the CBI in February 2023 as Head of Economic Analysis.

Prior to this, Tom was a Manager in PwC’s Global Fiscal Policy Advisory practice, where he advised governments, international organisations, development institutions, and private clients on economic and fiscal policy, strategy, reform design, and public policy appraisal. He has worked with policymakers in the UK, EU, Middle East, and Eurasia at multiple levels of government, from local to supranational.

Tom is a qualified accountant (ICAEW) and holds a MSc in Quantitative Finance from the University of London, a MSc in Globalisation from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester.

    CSaP annual meeting & reception 2021

    On 21 October 2021, CSaP hosted its first in-person networking event since the COVID-19 pandemic began. The annual meeting and reception, held at the Royal Academy of Engineering in London, provided an opportunity for 115 public policy professionals, industry leaders, and researchers to meet and share their experiences to improve decision-making.
