Karl's role is to develop and deliver the business strategies that will enable ENGIE to prosecute its mission of “making zero carbon happen” in the UK. He is able to bring insight to the technical, political, financial and behavioural aspects of public policy, particularly in the areas of public procurement, public / private partnerships, sustainable urban development, and the decarbonisation of heat, power and transportation.

In addition, Karl leads ENGIE’s government relations activity and works with stakeholders in central and local government, as well as in the defence, education and health sectors. He also leads ENGIE’s engagement with the CBI’s Public Sector Partners Council, the UK’s preeminent business representative forum for government / business relations.

Karl has a MST (Master of Studies) degree in Interdiscplinary Design for the Built Environment from the University of Cambridge and an MA in Conflict Analysis from the University of Kent. He completed his undergraduate degree in Politics at the University of Sheffield and has a PGDip in Real Estate from the College of Estates Management. He is also an Academician of the Academy of Urbanism.
