Victoria Bateman is a Fellow in Economics at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. Her research focuses on economic history, with a particular interest in social inequalities and the connection to a country's economy, how modern economic policy can learn from history, and the impact that women's rights and empowerment has on equality and economic development.
Victoria holds a DPhil in Economics and MSc in Economics and Social History, both from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge. She is a Fellow of the Legatum Institute, a regular contributor to Bloomberg and CapX, and has appeared in media including BBC Radio 4, The Sunday Times, and The Guardian.
