Senior Lecturer in Finance, Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Anglia Ruskin University

Ying is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Lord Ashcroft International Business School. Prior to joining Anglia Ruskin University, she was a Senior Lecturer at Northampton Business School, University of Northampton, where she was the Head of Postgraduate Programmes, Programme Leader for MSc in Accounting and Finance and Academic Leader for the third year Accounting & Finance undergraduate students. Previously Ying also gained extensive teaching experience at Queen’s University of Belfast and had professional working experience in the UK and China. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and currently serves as an external examiner and an external supervisor at the other universities in the UK.

Ying’s research interests centred on financial economics, corporate finance, international finance, risk management, corporate governance and law and finance. She is an active peer reviewer for international journals and conferences. She also regularly acts as a chair and a discussant at international and national conferences. Ying has gained substantial experience of supervising dissertation students at postgraduate and undergraduate level as well as supervising postgraduate research students.

Ying has a wider range of teaching experience on different postgraduate and undergraduate subjects, including Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Global Financial Strategy, Finance for Decision Making, Corporate Risk Management, Investment Analysis, Derivatives Market, International Money and Finance, and Research Methods in Finance. She is always passionate about her subject areas with a specialised interest to develop student subject skills and transferable skills, such as critical thinking, effective communication and creative problem solving using quantitative methods. Ying is currently responsible for postgraduate research degree students at Accounting, Finance and Operational Management Department.
