Speaker: Lord O'Donnell, Former Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service

Title: The Policy Revolution: incorporating wellbeing and behaviour change in policy decisions

Synopsis: The coalition government is experimenting with incorporating behaviour change into policy analysis with significant success. The Prime Minister has also separately argued that the objective of policy should not be maximising GDP but should be improving wellbeing. These two subjects are intimately related but have tended to be handled separately. In this lecture I will explain how they could be brought together and what might that imply at both the micro level and globally.
