Fred Perry is Director of Industrial Strategy in the Department for Business and Trade (DBT). He has responsibilities for implementation of trade and investment policy, fiscal events for the Department and corporate strategy. He has previously worked as an Economic Adviser in the Prime Minister’s Implementation Unit, leading on growth and migration policy, and before then as an Economist at the Office for National Statistics.
Fred has a particular interest in economic development. Before joining the Civil Service, he completed a BA(Econ) at Manchester University and an MPhil in Development Studies (Economics) at Cambridge University.
