Jack Witt is a senior policy adviser at the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. As Deputy Bill Manager for the Great British Energy Bill, he is currently working to establish Great British Energy as a new publicly owned clean energy company. Previously he worked on energy market policy, with a focus on retail energy markets, consumers, and innovation.

Jack has also held positions at 10 Downing Street, HM Treasury, and the Department for International Trade, and has completed the Civil Service Fast Stream. As part of the Prime Minister's Research & Information team, Jack’s responsibilities included preparing the PM for set-piece engagements like Prime Minister’s Questions, and leading research projects on a range of political priorities. As a Senior Policy Adviser at HM Treasury, his role focused on building relationships with other European finance ministries and analysing international policy approaches to tackling shared challenges.

Before joining the Civil Service, Jack worked at the Oxford University Institute for New Economic Thinking, where his research focused on the feasibility of long-run sustainable economic development.

Jack holds a First Class degree in Economics & Management from the University of Oxford.
