Jack Witt is a Senior Policy Adviser at the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero, where he is responsible for energy retail market reform. As well as advising on the overall strategic approach to reform, Jack leads work looking at how to encourage more innovation in the market.
Previously, Jack has held positions at No10 Downing Street, HM Treasury, and the Department for International Trade, and has completed the Civil Service Fast Stream. As part of No10’s Research & Information team, Jack’s responsibilities included preparing the Prime Minister for set-piece engagements like Prime Minister’s Questions, and leading research projects on a range of political priorities. As a Senior Policy Adviser at HM Treasury, his role focused on building relationships with other European finance ministries and analysing international policy approaches to tackling shared challenges.
Before joining the Civil Service, Jack worked at the Oxford University Institute for New Economic Thinking, where his research focused on the feasibility of long-run sustainable economic development.
Jack holds a First Class degree in Economics & Management from the University of Oxford.
