Science & Technology Team, Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism, Home Office

James Leggett works in the Science & Technology Team of the Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism within the Home Office. He is currently developing the strategy for the CONTEST Science and Technology programme, managing horizon-scanning and technology-watch activities.

Before joining the Home Office, James worked at the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL). His work focussed on sensing research for military and civil applications; explosives theory and application in mitigating the effects of blast and fragmentation; and technical management of programmes of sensing R&D.

James holds an MPhys in Physics and an MSc in Radiation Physics, and is a Chartered Physicist.
