Jennie was a CAPE Fellow at the Centre for Science and Policy (2022-2023) working with Cambridgeshire County Council to reduce health inequalities through the development and implementation of Health Impact Assessments.

Jennie read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, where she developed her interest in health sciences. She then worked as a Clinical Scientist in Cardiology at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where she developed a passion for reducing health inequalities due to the clear impact of social status on patient health and wellbeing. It was this experience that prompted her to engage in ways to improve public health through lessening inequality, such as becoming a member of the Cambridge Health Equity Network, working with the Poverty and Health Subcommittee of Students for Global Health, volunteering for AgeUK and Cambridge Community Kitchen, and becoming an Ambassador for the Public Health Collaboration.

She also participated in the Science and Policy Exchange where she developed her skills in public policy analysis and recommendation setting, working with Cambridgeshire County Council to recommend ways in which demand for formal health and social care services may be lessened through the empowerment of local communities. She performed this whilst completing her PhD in Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge.
