Julia's PhD is using brain imaging to investigate depression in adolescents. She is hoping to shed more light on what might lead to depression in some people, and how to predict who might respond best to certain treatments.

In 2010 she was the MRC Prize Intern at The Naked Scientist and currently works on the News Committee for the Department of Psychiatry.
