Dr Juvaria Jafri joined the Centre for Strategic Philanthropy in April 2021, from City, University of London, where she was Lecturer in International Political Economy. Over the winter of 2020/21, Juvaria held a guest appointment at the University of Kassel, Germany as the Wangari Maathai Visiting Professor, during which she ran seminars for MA students and created e-learning resources. Juvaria received her PhD in 2019 from City, University of London for her doctoral research on shadow banking and inclusive finance in Pakistan. Her previous degrees are from the University of Toronto in Canada, and SZABIST, in Karachi, Pakistan.
