Chief Executive Officer, Environment Agency

Philip has had a long career in the civil service and currently works as Chief Executive of the Environment Agency, taking up the role in July 2023. Previously, he worked at HM Treasury where he was Director-General of Growth and Productivity, leading work on the environment, transport, productivity, business support and culture. In this role he oversaw the Treasury’s work on spending and policies to create sustainable growth across the UK. He has previously worked as Chief Operating Officer of the Border Force and as Director, Immigration and Border Policy at the Home Office.
