Ben Henshall is Deputy Director Data Science and AI at Number 10. He co-founded the data science unit which exists to facilitate the use of analysis and evidence in key policy decisions. He spent most of 2020 leading on covid analysis and has previously led teams on a broad range of areas including housing and EU Exit.

Questions

  • 1. How could large language models and other AI be used to support the delivery and design of government services?
  • 2. How could large language models and other AI be used to support the design of government policy? (e.g. not just direct government services but also setting the rules of the game like the rules that govern the planning system)
  • 3. What will be the “Next Big Thing” that gets attention in the AI space after Large Language Models?
  • 4. What would need to be true for an LLM/other AI to have an equivalent level of consciousness to the average human?

    If you require parking but have not booked this, our charge is £5 per 24 hours.

    Check in is from 2pm onwards on the day of arrival. You are welcome to collect your room keys from Reception between 2pm to Midnight. If you arrive before 2pm, the room may not be ready, though you are welcome to use the car park subject to parking charges and availability. Arrivals after midnight can be accommodated by prior arrangement.

    Check out is by 10am on the day of departure. On your departure, please leave windows open and return the key back to the Reception or the Key Deposit Box outside Reception.
