Ruth Marshall is Head of Futures Capability at the Government Office for Science. This role focuses on building cross-Whitehall skills in futures and foresight, a strategic reform priority for the civil service identified in the Integrated Review (2021). She produces digital and in-person training for audiences from new entrants to Permanent Secretaries, professional bodies and senior leadership schemes. Ruth chairs a cross-Whitehall network of 300 members and regularly presents to international and UK audiences. Her latest projects include a new online masterclass for senior leaders and an e-introduction to futures for new entrants. Before joining GO-Science Ruth’s c.20 years' civil service experience covers policy, implementation, legislation, strategy, sponsorship, private office, and corporate development. She originally studied social sciences (BA, M.Phil from Cambridge) and more recently completed an MSc at Imperial in Health Policy.
