Valérie Nowak is a Policy Intern at the Centre for Science and Policy and is currently finishing her master’s degree in “Responsibility in Science, Engineering, and Technology” at Technical University Munich. She has just completed a two-year long traineeship in journalism at the German Public Broadcaster ARD. She previously studied journalism focusing on political science and Spanish at KU Eichstaett in Germany, including a semester abroad in Buenos Aires to deepen her understanding of political systems in Latin America. As a student, she worked for the High-Tech Forum, a committee that advised the Federal Government of Germany on implementing its High-Tech Strategy 2025. She wrote her thesis on Responsible Data Governance in cooperation with the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation, where she was an intern.
