Dr Vincent Mak is a Professor of Marketing & Decision Sciences at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Cambridge Judge Business School and was the Vice-Dean for Programmes & Research (2021-2023), Director (Associate Dean) of Programmes (2019-2021), and Deputy Director of Teaching (2016-2019) at the Business School.
He is interested in how people and firms make decisions as they interact with each other, and what economic and psychological factors influence those decisions. His research interests include managerial and consumer behavioural decision making, prosocial behaviour, pricing, experimental economics, and game theory. His recent projects include, for example, how managerial committees make decisions as a group, the potential impact of waste-based art on recycling behaviour, and the impact of corporate sustainability communications on online gig workers.
Before taking up his post in Cambridge Dr Mak was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He was also a University of Macau Distinguished Visiting Scholar in 2023.
