Xavier Moya is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Materials Science, University of Cambridge. He received his BSc in Physics in 2003, and his PhD in Physics in 2008, from the University of Barcelona. He works on the thermal properties of materials, focusing on phase transitions involving structural, electrical and magnetic degrees of freedom. Possible applications include environmentally friendly heating and cooling, and to this end he launched a spin-out called Barocal.
