BBSRC Policy Intern, Centre for Science and Policy (Sept - Dec 2014)
Former Events and Communications, Centre for Science and Policy
After completing a BBSRC-funded policy internship in 2014, Belen re-joined CSaP in 2015 to provide support in the managing and execution of CSaP's Events and Communications, including the 2015 Annual Conference.
She is in the final stages of her PhD in Genetics at the University of Nottingham, where she investigated flatworm regeneration, in particular the reestablishment of the anterior-posterior axis. She is particulartly interested in how research translates into policy decisions and how scientific advances can influence and better society.
Belen holds a BA Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MRes in Stem Cell Biology from the University of Nottingham.
