Gnodde Goldman Sachs Professor of Neuroinformatics, Department of Psychiatry, and Programme Leader, MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge

Duncan Astle is Gnodde Goldman Sachs Professor of Neuroinformatics, Department of Psychiatry, and Programme Leader at the Medical Research Council’s Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (MRC-CBU). He leads the 4D research group which captures a broad programme of developmental cognitive neuroscience. A hallmark of this science has been methodological innovations for understanding neural systems in childhood, how they are linked with developmental disorder, and how they respond to intervention.

His research uses multiple methods to explore how brain systems develop through childhood, in typically developing children, children with disorders of attention, children with genetic mutations, and children with problems in classroom learning. This programme of work has been supported by the Royal Society, the British Academy, the Medical Research Council, the Economic and Social Research Council and various charitable foundations.
