Ian Williams is a mathematician/statistician with over 40 years research, academic and consultancy experience in transport and land use planning. Ian has a particular interest in the design and use of forecasting models for policy analysis, including mathematical and computer modelling.

He has analysed the interactions between urban form, regional economic development and the demand for freight and passenger transport for the European Commission and national, regional and metropolitan governments, in 14 countries across four continents.

As well as expertise in passenger and freight transport planning, Ian has expertise in housing planning and policy, integration of transport and planning systems, demography, statistical analysis, trends and forecasts.
