Jon Roozenbeek's research focuses on the psychology of (digital) media effects and online manipulation. He has worked on understanding and countering mis- and disinformation, affective and political polarisation, and social identity building during intergroup conflict. He specialises in modern propaganda and information warfare, particularly in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Jon is the author of two recent books with Cambridge University Press: The Psychology of Misinformation and Propaganda and Ideology in the Russian-Ukrainian War.

Jon’s background is in psychology and area studies. He received his PhD in Slavonic Studies from the University of Cambridge (2020) and has won several awards including the 2020 Frank prize in Public Interest Communications and the 2024 Rising Star Award from the Association for Psychological Science.
