Linda Fisher is a University Senior Lecturer in Education, specialising in Modern Languages, at the Faculty of Education in the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on modern language education, including student beliefs about language learning, the academic and social integration of students learning English as their second language, teacher learning, and language learning motivation.

Linda holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, and an MBA from the University of Leicester, as well as a PGCE from Queen's University Belfast, and an MA from St Andrew's. She is a member of the Cambridge Bilingual Network, and the British Association for Applied Linguistics. She has worked as a language teacher in comprehensive schools, and was co-Principal Investigator on a Department for Education report into how secondary school languages departments interpreted Education policy.
