Before that, William Lord worked as a Senior Policy Advisor for Business, Ideas and Place (Cities and Local Growth Unit, MHCLG/BEIS) where he led on the co-creation of the “Ideas” (research and innovation) chapters of the West Midlands and Greater Manchester Local Industrial Strategies.Additionally, he developed a new approach to place-based research and innovation within the Unit: establishing firm links between Local Industrial Strategies and the government’s strategy for achieving the 2.4% R&D target.
William Lord has a MA in World History from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Thouron Scholar and a MA in Modern History & International Relations from the University of St Andrews.
