Professor in Mobile Systems, Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge
Cecilia Mascolo joined the Computer Laboratory in March 2008, having previously been in the Department of Computer Science at University College London, first as a Research Fellow then as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader and finally a Professor in October 2014.
From October 2005 until September 2010 she held an EPSRC Advanced Research Fellowship. She holds an MSc (1995) and a PhD (2001) in Computer Science from University of Bologna (Italy). She has been a visiting fellow in Washington University in St Louis in 1998.
She is a member of the Systems Research Group. Her research interests include mobile systems, realistic mobility models, mobile sensor networks and social network analysis. Professor Mascolo is currently working on projects on sensing through mobile phones, wildlife monitoring, human network information dissemination and online social network modelling. She works on a variety of topics related to modelling and systems to improve the experience of mobile telecommunications users.
