Principal Research Associate, Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, University of Cambridge
Dora Alexopoulou is a Principal Research Associate at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge, and a Principal Investigator of the EF Research Lab for Applied Language and Learning. Her research focuses on learning English as a second language, and theoretical and experimental syntax. Innovative linguistic research can help develop new ways of teaching English as a second language, in order to improve learning outcomes for students.
Dora holds a PhD in Linguistics and MSc in Natural Language and Speech Processing, both from the University of Edinburgh, as well as a BA in Greek Philology from the University of Athens. She has carried out research with the University of Edinburgh and the University of York, and was Intra-European Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Lille III. She is also a co-founder and organiser of the Cambridge Bilingualism Network, which aims to promote bilingualism, and assist those who are learning English as a second language.
