Research Associate, Centre of Molecular Materials for Photonics and Electronics, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge
Programme Manager, CamBridgeSens
Dr Oliver Hadeler is a Research Associate in the Centre of Molecular Materials for Photonics and Electronics (CMMPE) and in the Centre for Photonics Systems. His research interests cover liquid crystal devices for optical telecommunication networks and liquid crystal lasers. He now works with superconductor applications in next-generation electricity generators and motors. His liquid crystal laser work is mainly funded by an EPSRC Basic Technology Grant. More information on this project, called COSMOS, can be found here.
Dr Hadeler is also the Programme manager for CamBridgeSens, the Strategic Network for researchers at Cambridge University developing and using sensors. Members of CamBridgeSens come from a large number of departments across the whole university. Sensors for medical applications are developed in the departments of Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics and the Computer Laboratory while the main users of such sensors are based in the departments in the Medical Schoool.
Dr Hadeler studied physics at the University of Frankfurt and did his PhD in optoelectronics in Southampton in 2001. He was a College Research Associate at Jesus College and joined New Hall/ Murray Edwards College as a Fellow in October 2007.
