Biography:
Dr. Lee has been mainly working in the field of national health insurance policy for expanding coverage to be more people-centered, streamlining the process of listing/pricing of newly developed, innovative healthcare technology (IHT) and reforming the payment system to be more value-based. However, when the outbreak hits his country, he has been in the frontlines of the battlefields for filed epidemic investigation and response strategy planning to secure nation’s people, based on his clinical and public health background, including Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) outbreak in 2015 and COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 in the Korean government.
Dr. Lee got a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree from Yonsei University in Seoul and completed his residency as a Neurologist at Yonsei University Medical Center in Seoul. He earned a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree at Seoul National University. He has a brief experience as a visiting researcher at the School of Law (US Medical Law) in University of California Davis, United States.
