Dr Marcoci is an Assistant Professor of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. He is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk, and a UKRI Policy Fellow in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. He works on collective decision-making and argumentation, forecasting and foresight techniques, AI risk and policy. He is also Principal Investigator of the “Measuring the Quality of Collective Reasoning” project, funded by the British Academy (July 2023 – December 2024). In the past, he worked on structured expert elicitation techniques for predicting the reliability of research in the social & behavioural sciences (the repliCATS project) and on decision-support tools for measuring and improving the quality of argumentation in intelligence reports (the SWARM project).
