Michelle Rigozzi joined the health and social care team of the No10 Delivery Unit in June 2021 and is the delivery lead for cancer, diagnostics and smoking and vaping policies. Previously she was in the Prime Minister’s Implementation Unit and Covid-19 Taskforce. Prior to joining the civil service, Michelle worked across the NHS for almost five years, leading strategic and quality improvement projects in acute, mental health, community and primary care services and commissioning. This included improving cancer pathways at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, oversight of over 30 projects in a mental health trust and working on a merger to create the UK’s first £2bn NHS provider.

Prior to joining the NHS, Michelle worked as a Senior Research Scientist at a Top 100 Medical Device Company and was the Policy Fellowships Coordinator at CSaP.

Michelle has a PhD in physics from the University of Cambridge, mathematically modelling how cells respond to mechanical stimuli, and degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Sydney.
