Lead for prevention and inequalities in the Health and Social Care Team, Mission Delivery Unit, Cabinet Office

Michelle Rigozzi joined the Health and Social Care team of the No10 Delivery Unit in June 2021, which moved to the Cabinet Office as the Mission Delivery Unit after the General Election of July 2024. Michelle is the lead for prevention and inequalities and was previously the lead for primary care and cancer. Prior to joining the civil service, Michelle worked across the NHS for almost five years, leading strategic and quality improvement projects in acute, mental health, community and primary care services and commissioning. This included improving cancer pathways at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, oversight of over 30 projects in a mental health trust and working on a merger to create the UK’s first £2bn NHS provider.
Prior to joining the NHS, Michelle worked as a Senior Research Scientist at a Top 100 Medical Device Company. Michelle has a PhD in physics from the University of Cambridge, mathematically modelling how cells respond to mechanical stimuli, and degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Sydney.
