Dr Crawford Brown is Director of 4CMR, the Cambridge Centre for Climate Change Mitigation Research, having previously held posts as Professor Emeritus of Environmental Science and Policy, University of North Carolina and Director Emeritus, Institute for the Environment, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

His research interests include risk assessment; climate change; environmental policy; epistemic analysis of science in environmental policy. These interests are integrated primarily into work on climate change and sustainability for the built and natural environments, as well as air and water policy.
