Co-Founder and Former President at Cambridge University Science and Policy Exchange (CUSPE)

Patrick is a design strategist and the founder of design//digital, a boutique design consultancy supporting the design, engineering and management of digital products and services that interact with humans. Until recently, he was a postgraduate researcher at the University of Cambridge’s Engineering Design Centre. His research and PhD focussed on the improvement of design processes and methodologies for the development of mobile touchscreen devices. In a broader context, this covers applications that have to do with the interaction of humans and machines. Previously, he completed a BA, MEng and MA in Information Engineering at the University of Cambridge, including work in computer vision and machine learning. He writes a weekly column reporting on consumer technologies for an Austrian daily newspaper.

Patrick is the former president and a founding member of the Cambridge University Science and Policy Exchange (CUSPE), a society formed by early-career researchers at the University of Cambridge encouraging effective communication amongst researchers, scientists, engineers, industry representatives and policy makers. He is particularly interested in the intersection of technology and policy on a national and EU level, especially in the field of eHealth and networked mobile computing.
