Dennis Gillings Professor of Health Management and Director of the Centre for Health Leadership & Enterprise, University of Cambridge
Professor Scholtes’ teaching and research focus on healthcare delivery, health service innovation, and health system transformation. He is the Director of the Cambridge Centre for Health Leadership & Enterprise, where he leads three initiatives. The Primary Care Transformation Initiative tackles primary care fragmentation in the UK and USA, exploring how primary care delivery can be transformed to drive population health management and value-based healthcare. The Global Centre for Healthcare Convergence aims to transform population health by creating a new industry of innovative, rapidly scalable businesses positioned between primary and secondary care and focused on chronic diseases. The Healthcare Utility Initiative, in collaboration with Intermountain Health in the USA, addresses market failures in healthcare through a novel nonprofit business model known as a Healthcare Utility.
Professor Scholtes serves as Board Chair of one of the largest primary care practices in England, as Department Editor for Healthcare Management at Management Science, and is Distinguished Visiting Professor at HEC Paris.
