Anna Clarke is a Senior Research Associate in the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research, which is part of the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge. She joined the Centre in June 2004. Her research interests include housing need, homelessness, social housing, welfare and low cost home ownership.

Her recent work includes work on the future of social housing, under-occupation and Housing Benefit. She has also worked on the history of homelessness, cost-benefit evaluations of homelessness services and on access to social rented housing. Prior to joining the Centre she worked for NACRO, the crime reduction charity, researching social exclusion issues relating to hostels, ex-offender housing, drug use and crime prevention. Her research skills include qualitative research, focus groups and workshops as well as survey research and data analysis.
