Director for Fellowships and Networks, Centre for Science and Policy

Nicky manages the Fellowships and Networks at CSaP. She also develops CSaP's academic networks, supporting researchers to plan policy engagement, and develops interactions with other universities in policy engagement. Nicky was seconded for a year in 2022-3 to the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology to help Select Committees in UK Parliament in engaging with the academic community nationally.

Nicky is one of the Vice-Chairs of the Universities Policy Engagement Network (UPEN), and a Co-Chair of the UPEN Areas of Research Interest sub-committee. Prior to that, Nicky was the institutional lead for the Capabilities in Academic Policy Engagement (CAPE) project, funded by Research England.

Previously, Nicky was the Head of Public Engagement in the Office of External Affairs & Communications at the University of Cambridge. She managed the annual Cambridge Science Festival and founded and managed the Cambridge Festival of Ideas and Open Cambridge programmes. She was Chair of Trustees of the Cambridge Junction from 2015 to 2023.
